Automated device for tests related to fire hazard on electrical appliances. Glow-Wire test procedure.
Reference Norm
IEC 60595-2-10 – Fire hazard testing.
Part 2-10: Glowing/hot-wire based test procedures - Glow-wire apparatus and common test procedure.
Objective
Due to abnormal functioning or overload, components or parts can reach such a temperature that they may be damaged or their neighbouring parts be exposed to ignition. The Glow-Wire Test is destined to simulate thermal conduction that may be originated by heat or ignition sources, as well as by glowing elements or overload resistances during short periods in order to evaluate fire hazard in a simulated way.
- To test the fire resistant characteristics of materials up to 980 ºC
- It has a temperature gauge and an ammeter for reference and autocheck.
- To program tests, exposition and burnig point withdrawal times it has a numeric control which ommands a mechanisim that moves the cart and this allows an automatic work procedure.
- The machine operator must pay attention only to the characteristics of the flame, its height, autoextinguishing time, etc without having concerns on the performance of different mechanisms.
The Automated Commands are:
- Test Time Setting
- Cartridge operation until it makes contact with the sample.
- Time counter at the beginning of each program.
- Burning point withdrawal
- Time counter to warn the operator whether the flame on the sample has become extinguished or not.
- Reset for new test
Pure silver samples are provided for its calibration.
A calibration report is given.
User’s manual.
