Specifications

The SAD9000 MJ5 is an Impact hammer of 0,5J. It liberates such ammount of energy on a simple hit, usually intended to be applied to a given sample. It was constructed following the guidelines and requirements of the standard IEC60068-2-75 for hammers tests.

The SAD9000 - MJ5, consists of 3 functional units.
First, the impact mass located on the shaft of the hammer and consists of a grilon head, adjacent to achrome metal shaft surrounded by the calibrated hammer spring, and on its tip the cocking knob. This mass transfers the kinetic energy from the head to the sample under test.
In addition to the impact mass, the release mechanism, responsible for releasing the mass movement of the hammer when in the release cone is applied a force of less than 10N. In order to do so it is connected to the hammer through the release jaws, which can keep the hammer charged until the force is applied.
Finally, the achrome metal enclosure of the hammer that protects all mechanical parts.

To calibrate the MJ5, an additional device is required. The CMI, or Calibration Pendulum of the impact hammer.
It is calibrated in ranges up to 2J. It is used to calibrate the impact hammer or other impact devices. Works like a frictionless pendulum with a mechanism that record the angle that moves the pendulum under the effect of a precise impact. Different energies for different angles are marked on the pendulum
